We did much more in August-2017. Here is a snapshot of the important activities that we did in August-2017.

1.Paypal ‘Girls in Technology’ Program

Indian IT industries are more male dominant. As per a report, the IT workforce consists of only 34% Women.

To create interest for girls to take ‘IT’ as a career choice, Paypal has organized an event called ‘Girls in technology’ where we @Team Everest NGO took 30 Girls from Govt Hr Sec School, Sholinganallur, Chennai to Paypal office for a day long workshop.

The students were exposed to use computers, learned how to make PowerPoint presentation, financial literacy and much more. This is the first time, all students get a chance to step inside a corporate.

2.Career Guidance Workshop for 350 girl students

Team Everest NGO conducted Career Guidance Session, Communication Skill Workshop & Talent Search Competitions for around 350 girl students of various government schools in Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh, who attended Siemens Gamesa Academic Excellence Meet.

3.Old Age Home visit by our students

How often you got an opportunity to visit an old age home when you are a student?

Our Team Everest NGO students who are part of ‘Smile 100’ scholarship program have formed a ‘Kindness Club’ and visit an old age home on every Sunday to spend time with them and spread the smiles selflessly.

4.Feeding Homeless People Every Week

For Team Everest NGO, students are not just beneficiaries. They are change makers too. Our students who are part of ‘Smile 100’ scholarship program want their place to be Hunger Free. Hence they came up with an initiative to provide food for the homeless people.

Every Sunday, our students cook food with the help of their parents and distribute food packets to 50 homeless people in Arni, Tamilnadu. What a great way to teach Kindness at the young age and to feed the hungry!

5.Raksh Bandh Celebration

A bond built between our sponsored students and Policemen on the day of Raksha Bandhan.

Our Team Everest NGO sponsored students tied Rakhi to the Policemen, to thank them for the service being provided in their town.
