We got to know that July-7 is celebrated as World Chocolate day. When we got to know it, we passed on this information to our Team Everest NGO students. Immediately, our children got chocolates and started sharing with others. Here are two 1st standard kids, feeding chocolate to each other 🙂
That’s just one activity that we did in July. The month of July is filled with various events for Team Everest. Here is a summary of few important and interesting activities that we did in July-2017:
1. Digital Learning Center – Learning Curriculum via computers:
Imagine learning your curriculum with the help of a computer apart from regular blackboard teaching. That’s exactly what we are trying to achieve in Panchayat Union Middle School, Tirusulam, Chennai
Team Everest NGO has set up a ‘Digital Learning Center’ at the school and we started teaching their academics in the computer which help them to learn in a better way.
2. First Penguin Club:
One of the survey says that 85% of graduates in India are unemployable. That’s why we at Team Everest NGO, apart from paying the college fees, we also provide weekend skill based training program to all our sponsored students.
Through our ‘First Penguin Club’ initiative, we provide classes in spoken English, soft skill training, Problem-solving skills etc to ensure all our students become employable when they finish graduation.
3. Back to School:
What a lovely feeling to make 100 kids smile this year…. Wedistributed school uniforms, shoes, and slippers to 100 parentless and single parented students this year.
Thanks to all ‘Back to School’ Campaign donors who made this possible.
We at Team Everest NGO distributed school uniforms, shoes and slippers to 100 parentless and single parented students this year.
4. Our Chess Champion:
4 of our Sponsored students participated in the District Level Chess tournament. One of our students, Gunalan won the second place.
5. ‘If I am the prime minister of India’ – Independence Day Competition:
If I am the Prime Minister of India? – We are conducting an Essay and Drawing competition to 10,000 students across the country to celebrate our 71st Independence day.
We started conducting the contests in various schools across the country which includes Tamilnadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharastra, Himachal Pradesh etc.
This is an opportunity for all of us to hear from students on how they want this country to be. To encourage maximum participation, we will be giving certificates to all participants and medals to winners.
