If you are someone who are longing for a long time to sponsor a student, this is your opportunity.  Meet students, listen to their stories, and decide whether you want to sponsor them or not for their college education. You might find your dream student in this event. And, the student will find a right sponsor and a lovable brother or sister in you.


Note: Scholarship Matrimony is an in-person volunteering event happening in Chennai only.


 We will explain the activity in the orientation session during the event. 

Time Commitment

You have to commit only 3 hours (2 pm to 5 pm IST) for the 'Scholarship Matrimony' event on June 18, 2023 (Sunday).

Who can volunteer in this program?

  1. ‘Scholarship Matrimony’ is an in-person volunteering event. 
Why Scholarship Matrimony?

Team Everest runs an undergraduate scholarship program. 2500 parentless, single parented, and financially poor students are part of it. We don’t have funds for some of the students. We are doing ‘Scholarship Matrimony’ to bring in supporters who can help for the students’ education. 

What is Scholarship Matrimony?

Individuals like you will meet college students in-person. You can talk and get to know them. If any of their stories touch you, you can choose to help for their education.

Who are the students I will meet?

You will be meeting Team Everest scholarship students. They maybe from any year of college. They are pursuing degrees in Engineering, Law, Arts, and Medical Sciences

In what ways I can help a student?

You can make a one-time donation, give a small amount monthly, or help with a yearly contribution. You can even become a fundraiser for their education. 

Orientation

What is an Orientation?

In the Orientation, we will explain the activity in detail to the volunteers. We also address the queries of volunteers during it.

Is it mandatory to attend the orientation?

Yes, it is mandatory to attend the orientation to be part of this activity.

How to join the Orientation?

The orientation will happen in the activity's venue during the event day.

What is the program structure?

You will have to do 13 phone call sessions. Each session is for 45 mins. Every session is broken into activities and games. 

Will I get any help from Team Everest?

Yes, we will conduct an online orientation to explain the activity and we will tag you with a student. We will also share a handbook that will have the teaching curriculum. 

What will happen in the session?

You need to read our handbook and conduct the activities listed in it over the normal phone call. Most of the activities will be a game which you will play with the student.

 'Orientation Recording' is a recorded video of the online webinar that has been conducted to explain this activity in detail and to clarify all queries of the volunteers.

How can I watch the orientation recording?

Post your signup, you will receive the orientation recording link in email. Click on the link and please enter the requested basic information to watch the recording.

Why I should watch the orientation recording?

You can understand the activity clearly if you watch the orientation.

Handbook

What is a handbook?

A handbook is the activity material to help and guide you. It will have Program Information, Key Dates, FAQs, Instructions, Samples, and Useful links.

Where can I find the handbook?

Post the orientation, you will get the handbook link in email.

Should I conduct the sessions only by following the Volunteer Handbook?

Yes, please stick to the handbook. Because our dedicated curriculum team has carefully thought through and compiled the book that is appropriate for a student and aimed to achieve the program's intended goals.

Certificate

Will I get a certificate?

On successful completion of the activity, you will get a volunteering e-certificate.
