Mom Dad Community Center – Team Everest

Mom Dad Community Center

Mom Dad Community Center (MDCC) is a community center which is made possible by the generous donation of Team Everest founder Karthee Vidya and his elder brother. MDCC is the previous home of Team Everest founder which is located in Arni, Tiruvannamalai Dt, India. When both his mom and dad passed away, he decided to use the home for a social cause instead of selling it or giving it for rent. That’s how ‘Mom Dad Community Center’ is born!

The intention behind this home is to make every individual think about their parents and their contribution in their lives. Every child, every person who steps inside this home should understand the key role their parents played in their lives and give them due respect.

The Story of MDCC

Check out this video to know how a simple home has become ‘Mom Dad Community Center’ and touching the lives of 500 Students in the community every year!

Computer Center

MDCC has a Computer Center with seven computers and functional on all seven days. Many students are not exposed to computers due to lack of Digital Literacy in their curriculum. In our center, students learn the basics of computer including Paint, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Every student undergoes 60 days of computer training. At the end of the training program, we conduct an assessment and certify the students. The students along with the parents are invited to the certification ceremony, and we issue the certificate to the students.

Study Centre + Library

MDCC have a big terrace which is used by students in the community to study in the evenings and on weekends. We also have an in house library from which students can pick any book any time to read.

The place is also used for Student Parent meetings, providing food for children on weekends, various educational camps for students and NGO’s meets.
