What is fundraising?
Fundraising is raising funds for a cause close to your heart from your friends, family, and colleagues.
Why should I fundraise, when I donate to Team Everest already?
Thank you for being a donor. Yes, you are already a change-maker. But, you can create a 10x impact by being a fundraiser by bringing in more funds to educate financially poor students.
What support will I get for fundraising from Team Everest?
We offer 3 things to support your efforts:
- We will give a detailed online orientation about Fundraising.
- You will have a personalized fundraising page, where your friends and family can donate online. So any time you can login and see who has donated.
- We have made a 'Fundraising Kit' for you. It will have fundraising tips, content and pictures to be posted in Social Media. It will even have message to be sent via WhatsApp and other details.

What is ‘I am the Change’ Scholarship?
It is a scholarship that supports the education of parentless, single-parented and financially poor students.
How much does it cost to sponsor one student?
It costs Rs 42,000 per year. Rs 30,000 is towards college fees and Rs 12,000 is used for the training programs & the material cost. Thus it costs Rs 1,26,000 to make a student graduate as most of them take up 3 years courses.
How long this Scholarship has been happening?
We started this initiative in 2016. This is the eighth year of the 'I am the change' Scholarship program and we have sponsored 4300+ students as part of this scholarship till now.
Where is this scholarship happening?
The scholarship happens in 5 cities - Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Bengaluru, and Delhi
What do the students receive as part of the Scholarship?
The students will get
- Financial support up to Rs 30,000 per year towards their College fees.
- Year-long career skills building & employability training.
- Internship Opportunities with Corporates & Startups.
- Job Interview Opportunities.
Why is this Scholarship happening only in 5 cities?
- As we already mentioned, this is not a scholarship with only financial support. We do training and offer internships to students beyond financial assistance. To do that, we need students in one place rather than scattered across.
- That's why we take students in clusters in each city so it becomes easy to conduct these training programs.
Which college these students are studying?
Our 4300+ students (2400+ students completed graduation) are studying in more than 400+ different colleges. Our students are studying various UG courses in Arts & Science and Engineering.
Why is this Scholarship happening only in 4 cities?

Fundraising
Do the donations get Tax Exemption?
Yes. The donation made is Tax exempted in India, the US, and the UK. Ensure that donors choose the right Tax exemption option while donating. Usually, we provide tax exemption receipts to donors within 30 days from the date of donation.
What is the minimum donation amount?
There is no minimum donation amount. You can donate any amount of your choice.
What payment options are available on the Fundraising page?
The following payment options are available for Indian citizens and non-residential Indian Citizens.
- UPI / QR
- Card (MasterCard, Visa, RuPay)
- Net Banking
- Wallets (PhonePe, Paytm, Mobikwik, Freecharge, Airtel Payments Bank, Ola Money, JioMoney)
All others can donate via an International card.
Do donors have to give PAN details to donate?
No, it is optional. But if you require an 80G receipt to claim a tax exemption against your donation, the Government of India has stipulated the PAN has to be mentioned on the receipt.

Can my friends outside India can donate?
Yes your friends from any part of the world can donate.
When will I get a receipt for my donation?
We will send you the receipt within 30 days of the donation being made. However, the donor will get acknowledgement immediately after they make a donation.
What currencies can a donor donate?
Donor can donate in their local currency. The amount will be converted to its USD equivalent at the time of the transaction.
Will cash donations be accepted?
No, we don’t accept cash donations.
Can my family and friends fundraise with me?
Absolutely YES. Your friends, family, and colleagues can help you in your fundraising.
Should I do fundraising for 2 months?
We have 2 months so that you will have sufficient time to reach out to all your friends. The more time you can spend, the more funds you can raise.
What if I cannot raise the full amount?
It is absolutely fine. Any amount you raise will help take a student closer to graduation.
Will I get the acknowledgements for the donation made?
Yes. Immediately after they donate, they will get an email confirmation from us acknowledging the donation they have made.
Does Team Everest have all the necessary certifications?
Yes. Team Everest is an officially registered Trust. We have all the necessary certifications to function as a trust.
Do I know who my student is?
Yes. We let you know which student benefitted from your fundraising by Dec 31st.
Can I speak or meet the student whom I fundraise for?
Yes. Once we tag a student, you can request to connect with your student over call or in person. We facilitate it from our side.
Can I continue fundraising after the deadline?
- Yes, absolutely. You can extend the date on your fundraising page.
- Even if you don't extend the date, the fundraising link will be active throughout the year to receive donations.
