Donation

  • Are donations tax exempted?

    Your donations are tax exempted under 80G in India. You will get a 50% tax exemption in India. Sharing your PAN number and Address is mandatory to avail of that tax exemption.

  • How much it costs to educate one student?

    It costs us Rs. 42,000 per student per year. We give up to Rs 30,000 to a student to cover the college fees, book fees, transportation fees, hostel fees, mess fees, exam fees, lab fees etc.

     

    Rs 12,000 is used to provide skills training  for the student to become employable by the end of their graduation program.

  • What are the benefits of the scholarship?

    1. Financial support: Up to 30,000 for each student every year for college fees till they finish college. 

     

    2. Skill development: From Aptitude to Attitude, we will train students on every aspect to make them job ready. 

     

    3. Internship Opportunities: Internship opportunities with startups, corporates to help them get corporate exposure and develop new skills.

     

    4. Job Opportunities: We guide students on various job opportunities during their final year thereby helping them to get a job easier.

  • How do you get application for this scholarship?

    We receive applications for this program in any of the following ways:

     

    School Application Drive - Our team visit various schools in our scholarship cities and collect students application.

     

    Online Applications - Students apply for our scholarship via www.everestscholarship.com

     

    College Application Drive - Our team visit various colleges in our scholarship cities and collect students application.

About Beneficiaries

  • Who are the beneficiaries of the scholarship?

    Parentless, single-parented, and financially poor students are the beneficiaries of our scholarship.

  • What are the scholarship cities where the students are from?

    This scholarship is currently offered in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Bengaluru, and Delhi. Depending on the funds we raise, we will expand it to many more places in the future. 

Training

  • What training you provide to scholars?

    From Aptitude to Attitude, we will train students on every aspect to make them employable.

  • Can I volunteer to train students?

    We collect necessary proof from students (Original Bills, Bonafide etc) and make the payment directly to the student's bank account. We do reimbursement to the student.

Payment to Students

  • Why are you not paying the fees to the college directly?

    Our students are from various colleges and every college has their own payment structure, perm terms and payment modes (Cheque, Cash, Online transfer etc) which makes it logistically difficult to pay them directly. Hence, we pay to the student bank account directly after collecting all the necessary proofs.

Transparency

  • Will I know the student's details to whom I donate?


    Yes. We let every donor know who their student is by December 31st every year.


  • Can I speak with my student?


    Yes. We share the student mobile number upon request once we tag the student to you in December.


  • Can I meet my student?


    Yes. You can meet the student who you are sponsoring. Students will be from any of our Scholarship cities. You can meet the student along with a representative from Team Everest. 


    We can also set up a video call for you if you are from a different city.


  • Will Team Everest share periodic report about the student?


    Unfortunately NO. We do not have the required human resources to do this. We share you the student phone number upon request and you can do a periodic check with the student as per your convenience. This makes it more humane, transparent and flexible.


  • What is the admin cost for Team Everest?


    Our admin cost for this scholarship program is Rs 2000 per student which is 4.7% of the scholarship cost.

  • Is Team Everest a registered NGO?


    Yes, we are a registered non profit with Government of India. 


    We are also registered as a non profit under the name 'Team Everest USA' in United States of America.


  • Is Team Everest financial transactions audited?


    Yes, all our financial statements are audited by professional third-party auditors and reported to the government as per the law of the country. We have even won awards for our transparency. You can see more details about this on our transparency page.
